African ICT journalists can apply for conference scholarship
African professional journalists with proficiency in ICT reporting who are interested in attending the 2009 Highway Africa Conference can apply for scholarships. Deadline: July 15.
The conference will take place September 6 to 8 at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, South Africa. Highway Africa is a program of the School of Journalism at Rhodes University.
This year’s conference will be both a celebration and an interrogation of journalism and media and their "role in sport, identity and the African agenda," according to the organizers. Thus, applying journalists should be keen on improving and upgrading their digital media savvy.
Interested persons should submit a CV with 2 contactable references, a 300-word statement on why they are interested in attending Highway Africa and what will be done with the skills and information acquired, as well as a letter of support from their editor or publisher. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Finalists should hear back by July 25 and will be required to complete registration and indemnity forms supplied by Highway Africa.
