The second edition of the Youth Entrepreneurship and Self-Employment (YES) Forum offers a platform for young entrepreneurs to share knowledge and for stakeholders to partner on innovative approaches and best practices for youth entrepreneurship today.
The event will build on the first edition of the YES Forum held in Dakar in 2018 and will address youth entrepreneurship, particularly also in vision of the African Continental Free Trade Area (ACFTA) agreement.
The YES Forum bridges the conversation between young entrepreneurs, policymakers, social partners, business support organisations, government officials and UN agencies. The active co-leadership of the African Union Commission and the Government of Ethiopia will make this year’s edition stimulating and impactful. In addition, the YES Forum 2019 will be part of a full week of exciting events, including SheTrades Global event on 19 November, Africa Industrialization Day on 20 November and the World Export Development Forum on 21-22 November.
The event will be co-organized by the African Union and by partners of the Global Initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth: International Labour Organization (ILO), International Trade Centre (ITC), United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
