The WISE Learners’ Voice Program brings the voice of young people to the challenge of rethinking education, and equips them to take on leading roles in their fields and in the world of education. The Program is based on the conviction that when learners are co-creators of their learning environments they become active participants, invested collectively as stakeholders in the progress of their communities. Each year, WISE rigorously selects candidates from a diverse pool of applicants who, through their academic, professional and/or personal work, strongly demonstrate their commitment to and engagement in the field of education. In a key component of the program, the Learners are tasked with developing innovative, educational interventions to a pressing social issue identified by WISE.
This year the participants will be engaged in theoretical and practical components relating to the Global Forced Migration and Displacement Crisis.
The 2016-17 cohort is currently engaged in the year-long program consisting of residential sessions, volunteer work, online activities, and the development of group projects seeking innovative solutions to the global refugee crisis.
WISE is now seeking a new group of outstanding learners aged 21 to 30 to join this growing global community. The candidates can apply or be nominated to take part in the Program. WISE – Qatar Foundation will cover visa fees, return flights and accommodation of the selected candidates.
The global call for applications is now open and will run until 13:00 GMT on May 2, 2017.Application and nomination forms can be completed online at www.wise-qatar.org and must be submitted via the online platform.
