Will graduating at 2iE allow me to go back to and work in Europe or the USA?
2iE’s Degrees are accredited by the French Engineering Title Committee for six years and are recognized all over Europe. Out of 330 engineering schools in France, only 220 are recognized by the Committee. Among these schools, only one is African: 2iE!
Two years ago, 2iE implemented the International Educational System Bachelor’s – Master’s – PhD degree programs which facilitate inter-university exchanges throughout the world. Partnerships with engineering schools and international institutions are quite important for the 2iE Foundation. Hence, agreements and conventions are signed with prestigious universities such as Princeton in the United States, Hokkaido University in Japan, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana, Pierre and Marie Curie University (Paris 6) and Sciences Po in France.
What are my chances of getting a good job if I graduate from 2iE?
Better than in Europe! 90% of 2iE’s students, against 70% in France, are recruited within 6 months after graduation. One year after graduation, all of them earn attractive wages and either work in the fields of development, energy or water engineering, industrial corporate, NGOs, international cooperation services, design offices or have started up their own business with the support of the institute. The Department of Innovation, Management and Business Enterprise of the institute ensures graduates’ smooth integration in the workplace and organizes important events such as Business Enterprise Days. Moreover, it has set partnerships with big companies like Total, Bollore, Sogea-Satom (Vinci Group) and Suez-Environnement.
Can an African engineering school provide world class infrastructure?
Though located in West Africa, in a developing country, 2iE provides its students with an environment for studies similar to that of the biggest European institutes. A free Internet connection and a Wi-Fi network are made available at both campuses. Our campuses are also equipped with two video-conferencing systems and 2iE’s computing infrastructure includes 1,000 computers. Each second year student is given a computer. Furthermore, the teaching material and didactic resources are posted on Moodle plateform. 2iE’s graduates are IT literate.
How about campus life at 2iE?
2iE’s students are housed in single and double rooms with private and external showers on campus. 2iE is building modern and comfortable facilities at both campuses to accommodate the increasing number of students. Meals can be taken at 2iE restaurants with good sanitary conditions.
Sports are encouraged, and students are provided with modern infrastructure (basket ball and foot ball fields, a swimming pool, etc.). Student associations organize movie projections (in English), sports contests, outings and parties on the school premises.
Is Burkina Faso a dangerous country?
2iE Foundation, which is a non-profit international association, has signed Headquarters Agreement with Burkina Faso that grants its students and staff a diplomatic status. A social security system ensures an excellent coverage of medical cares.
“Burkina Faso” means the country of Honest People. Located in West Africa, the country is praised for its political stability. The population is reputed for its tolerance and warmth.
The capital city, Ouagadougou, is located at the crossroads of African and international cultures with the Pan African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO) or even the International Art and Craft Fair of Ouagadougou (SIAO). Various concerts and cultural events are organized in the city throughout the year.
Burkina Faso is also a country with numerous touristic sites that attract many visitors. Among these sites are: the desert sand dunes, the sacred caymans in Sabou, Laongo site (granite sculptures), natural parks, museums, Banfora waterfalls.
Is socializing easy at 2iE?
At 2iE, 60% of students are from countries other than Burkina Faso. This is why 2iE is a cultural melting pot where various African languages are spoken in addition to French and English. Chinese and Arabic languages are also taught at 2iE.
A wide range of activities proposed by 2iE’s student associations and the different opportunities for group work help integrate newcomer students. 2iE’s students have been reported welcoming and easygoing by French, American, Ghanaian students who have come to 2iE.
Do you need to be wealthy to enter an engineering school?
Not 2iE! You can pay for your tuition fees, accommodation and food for the whole academic year at the cost of a rent fee in France. You pay less quality training programs recognized all over the world in an environment favorable to studies and intercultural exchanges.
